Please feel free to browse through my galleries, here you can see samples of my work ranging from dresses, tailored coats, evening wear, casual outfits and wedding dresses to soft furnishings and upholstery. My shop and workshop are located in a small town in the Haute Vienne department in south west France, but I have made garments and soft furnishing items for clients all over the world, from Europe to the US. Where distance would make any fittings difficult, I would normally have contact with the client either by email or telephone, a "toile" would be made up to the client's measurements in cheap white cotton and sent to the client for fitting - it may be that this goes back and forwards a few times until a perfect fit is achieved - then, and only then is the final garment made.
I am happy to work with a client's own fabric, although I would certainly advise if I felt that it wasn't suitable for a chosen style, or I am equally happy to research for fabrics and send samples to a client.
There would always be a written estimate given for a job - so you would know the exact costs before placing an order.
I work alongside my husband, many of my French clients find it "trés amusant" to find my husband in the shop, tape measure around his neck and scissors in hand! We make a good team, I am an experienced dressmaker, and have been sewing for more years than I am willing to publish here, my husband is an artist and a trained upholsterer, so there are very few jobs that we aren't prepared to tackle.
Apart from the made to measure clothing, and soft furnishing/upholstery side of the business, Indypindy also runs a comprehensive alteration service.
